<p>Hello everyone and welcome back!  Thank you for all your comments and expressed interests.  With all that love, let us get down to business.  Let’s spread the message and help millions of people who need the simplicity, practicality and most importantly, the legitimacy of this material.</p>
<p><strong><em>Is disease reversible through food?</em></strong><br />
Ok, we are not doctors, we recommend you consult with your physician before implementing anything new into your lifestyle.  Corp FIT’s goal is to integrate Western and Eastern medicine practices because they both have their place in complete wellness.</p>
<p><strong><em>Why do we get sick, and how does disease come into play?</em></strong><br />
We have a breakdown in our immune system (defense system).  This could be from a number of factors, but here are a few examples:  heavy metal toxicity (not the music, so rock on metal lovers), environmental toxins and &#8220;leaky gut&#8221; syndrome, which we discussed in the last blog post, &#8220;Juicing vs Blending&#8221;.</p>
<p>Science proves, and we know that (1)<strong>vitamins</strong>, (2)<strong>minerals</strong> and (3)<strong>enzymes</strong> play a vital role in our health.  <strong>Phytochemicals</strong> are the 4th nutritional classification, though it is seldom talked about. Every one of the four items listed above is found in foods. Phytochemicals are somewhat different in that they are not easy to obtain (seeds, skins, rinds, leaves and also the stump-end of a pineapple).  In many ways, phytochemicals are the real key to a <strong>COMPLETE</strong> nutrition program.  They provide special properties that make them anti-aging, anti-disease, antifungal and antiviral.  They are capable of fighting against cancer, AIDS, regenerating lost organ function and rejuvenating the skin to have a more youthful appearance.  All that with no toxicity effect!</p>
<p><strong><em>Phytochemicals and the phase 2 enzyme process:</em></strong></p>
<p>In the last blog post, &#8220;<em>Juicing vs Blending</em>&#8220;,  we discussed phase 2 enzymes (next blog we will discuss the Phase II Enzyme and its importance), which enable our body’s cells to detoxify themselves.  This process can only be accomplished by the use of fruits and vegetables (including their skins, leaves and seeds) through the phytochemicals which are the catalyst to ignite the all mighty &#8220;phase II enzymes&#8221;.  What we have been lead to believe is that medicine cures and treats our illnesses.  In the process, we have been turned away from the amazing immune system God has created in each one of us.  Nature has provided us with nutritionally dense foods, such as foods that grow on trees, vines, under the ground and 14,000 feet in the Peruvian Mountains, etc.  Our bodies were not born with medicines in them.  It seems only logical that we can cleanse, balance and build our bodies through nutrition (1 of the foundations for wellness) and supplementation (to be used in conjunction with nutrition, not as a substitute).  Our immune system is capable of combating anything put in its path if it is tuned up and in optimal operating condition.  I (Brian) have not been to the doctor since I was 13.  I will be 35 in November; Chris hasn’t been sick with even a cold in three years.  We are not negating the importance of check-ups, routine blood work and physicals.  We advocate physicals and blood work to see where you are deficient.  We believe that if you take care of yourself, your body will in turn take care of you.</p>
<p>When utilizing food to combat disease and illness there are a few things that are critical that must be addressed:</p>
<p>1) <strong>CLEANSE</strong> and purify the blood (stagnant blood is a breeding ground for disease).</p>
<p>The following can be used in your daily diet and blending for good results:</p>
<ul>
<li>Beets (lowers homocysteine levels due to its Betaine).</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Garlic (antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-aging).</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Coconut (antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-aging).</li>
<li>Burdock Root (blood purifier)</li>
<li>Wild liquid Reishi Mushroom (great for the heart and vascular system. The most potent medicinal mushroom, its known as the “Mushroom of Mortality”)</li>
<li>Red Peppers (capsicum); circulates the blood (important).</li>
<li>Celery (has been used in Chinese Medicine for 1000’s of years. It contains “Pthalides” that relax the muscles around the arteries to allow more blood flow. In the protocol to drop blood pressure it calls for 6 stalks per day.)</li>
<li>Apples (just random but awesome info)-Apples contain Cyanide in the seeds (kills cancer cells), have large amounts of Pectin (fruit based fiber that produces BGBM), promotes regularity, Contains SOD (superoxide dismutase) which is another &#8220;phase II enzyme&#8221;.  They contain over 300 different elements and even contains it’s own enzymes to break itself down! How crazy is that?! The old saying &#8220;An Apple a Day keeps the Dr. away&#8221; holds a lot of truth.</li>
</ul>
<p><em>*Garlic and coconut are 2 things on earth that are Anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-aging.  They have no toxic effects other than smelling heavily of Garlic which may result in you being single or capitalizing on your &#8220;Me Time&#8221; a little more =)<br />
</em></p>
<p><em>*use coconut oil to cook with over other oils, it is saturated fat so when it is heated it does not turn rancid or unusable and toxic to the body.</em></p>
<p>2) <strong>BALANCE THE HORMONES </strong>(endocrine system) and <strong>BALANCE the GUT Flora </strong>(good 85% and 15% bad bacteria)</p>
<p>Consider using these to assist hormone and flora levels:</p>
<ul>
<li>alkaline vs. acidic PH (fruits, veggies and alkaline restructured water)</li>
<li>Maca Root (grows 14,000 feet up in the Peruvian Mountains-the highest of anything we eat; arguably the most potent endocrine or hormone modulator for menopause (female) and andropause (men). Maca is noted to increase sperm count 180-300% in males; so guys, you have been warnedJ</li>
<li>Ginseng -great for the Adrenals (Chronic Fatigue) there are roots in China that sell for $150,000!</li>
<li>Pumpkin seeds (highest in Zinc-sex hormones; great for osteoporosis.)</li>
<li>Black Sesame Seeds [high in Iron, Silica (bone, hair, skin and nails) and high in phytosterols-great Jing builder or sex hormones]</li>
<li>Goji berries (secretagogue-enhances GROWTH HORMONE (anti-aging) production and has high amounts of Arginine (vasodilatation), 8oz of Goji berries has more Beta-carotene than 25 lbs of carrots and contains 18 essential aminos (complete protein) and 21 trace minerals- truly awesome super fruit!  We use Ron Teagardens “Heaven Mountain” Goji’s</li>
<li>Fermented vegetables have trillions of probiotics per mouthful.  Very economical or cost effective $4-6.</li>
<li>Probiotics: Good Belly-Big Shots™ are what we use here at CorpFit, and have had stellar results and feedback on the BHBM&#8217;s (Big Huge Bowel Movement) from our clients =).  This is crucial when you are front loading great nutrients you HAVE to make sure the exit strategy or &#8220;dumping&#8221; portion of all the waste is just as efficient, if not more, otherwise, you will induce a healing crisis.  A healing crisis happens when all the good nutrients has killed a lot of the bad toxins in the body, and toxins from the dead bacteria, virus or invaders are overwhelming for the system (body).  The body can shut down, or go into a healing crisis.  Typically, humans have anywhere from 9-21 lbs of undigested food matter in our intestines (this is a major reason why we use liquid supplementation). As most of you may know we are no longer doing Bootcamps as of today. We now are dedicating our time to more corporate wellness activities, however we may think about it again in the future. We are still available to help with personal training or nutrition.</p>
<p>Vitality through 3 horsepower blending</p>
<p>Our topic of discussion for this week is 3 hp blending.  There are a few opinions on juicing versus blending and we are going to identify why we believe 3 hp blending is more effective.</p>
<p>I will first start this off by saying that yes, you are correct.  I am not a doctor you should consult your physician before implementing any of the information that has been talked about here in.</p>
<p>To juice or blend that is the question??</p>
<p>Before we get to answering the question directly we have to lay some groundwork in order to have a complete understanding.</p>
<p> What is vitality and how we can improve it ? And if we can improve it would juicing or blending be more effective?</p>
<p>Siri&#8217;s definition of vitality is :  is an energetic style and the property of being able to survive and grow.</p>
<p>The 3 most basic but absolutely critical elements of life are these: air, water and food. Without these you can neither survive or grow. At The most basic level the difference between an acidic (dying) and alkaline (thriving) body is the presence of oxygen. An alkaline body is a much healthier, a homeostasis environment in which our bodies are in a position to be able to fight off sickness and disease.  It will improve and restore  proper hormone balance when it (body) is in proper balance with respect to PH (alkaline vs acidic).</p>
<p>An acidic body is due to protein consumption (meats) , grain consumption, stress, lack of exercise, processed foods, sugars, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, prescription medications, environmental toxins, coffee and yes, especially dairy:)<br />
An alkaline body on the other hand is from fruits, green vegetables, alkaline-restructured water sources and proper liquid vegetarian supplementation, all of which I will not go into but will cover over time because of the importance of each individually and together as a team.</p>
<p>When looking into vitality, toxicity of the body has to be addressed which is a direct correlation with the pH of the body chemistry. Toxicity removal needs to be focused on through all seven channels of human elimination and not just one or two which is typically what different types of cleansing systems or cleansing products typically focus on, Ex:  Colon cleanse, liver cleanse or kidney cleanse.  The only liquid, roots and herbs based, 7 channel of elimination cleanse and supplemental products that I have found to be extremely effective and put together by someone who is extremely notable in the world of supplementation and clinical nutrition is Dr. Lindsey Duncan and his line of all natural liquid supplements-Genesis Pure.  His ideology is concrete and unshakable with respect to &#8220;Cleanse, Balance and Build&#8221; which is arguably the most potent way to approach healing of the human body that was 1st introduced by Bernard Jensen.  Jensen was and is still known as &#8220;the master of the human body cleanse&#8221; even though he is no longer with us.  This was  Dr. Lindsey&#8217;s mentor and teacher.</p>
<p>At the top of the food chain is Air, the most important element for life.  And yes there are different qualities of air just like their different qualities of water, foods, vitamins Etc.  It is important to saturate the body with the most potent type of purified oxygen that you can get to boost the immune system and adjust the Ph.  There are ozone treatments -O3 therapy treatments,  breathing modalities like Qi-gong that are amazingly effective and very realistic to do.  They have amazing and profound effects on the body of which Chris and I have both experienced.  I have used and still use O3 therapy treatments as well as Qi-gong for meditation but also for maximally saturating the body with oxygen to change the environmental chemistry to promote vitality and well being.  Qi- gong dramatically helped my energy levels, metabolism, toxin removal, energy boosting and stress relief!:).  Qi-gong is nothing more than understanding breathing techniques to really allow oxygen to permeate the body at a cellular level and most importantly allowing the body to heal with no medications.  Jeff Primack is who we got Qi-gong and food based healing from.  I use alot of his information in what I do in nutritional programming.  .We share Qi-gong with all family, friends, and any one who we cross paths with because it is free and extremely practical and extremely effective.  </p>
<p>Now with some frame work laid we can get into the main differences between juicing and blending.  With blending you are still using the whole fruit, vegetable and seed vs just the juice.  According to the Bible Genesis 1:29 &#8220;Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you.&#8221;  The skins and seeds are where the most potent phyto-nutrients and medicinal phytochemicals are stored.  This is one of the main reasons why a 3 horsepower blender is necessary- to break up the seeds and skins to a micron level (avocado seed for example).  1 of the most important things to vitality is detoxification which happens through the bowels (BHBM-Big Huge Bowel Movement) as Jeff Primack would say.  The BHBM is a very crucial part to life that most Americans have a problem with due to our high processed foods, breads, cheese, dairy, lack of water, lack of probiotics, and lack of exercise.   Our guts is where 95% of our immune system is located.  In each cell God has designed it to have a master healing process called a &#8220;phase 2 enzyme process&#8221; which is crucial for fighting cancer and other autoimmune diseases.  The only way for these enzymes to be activated is through &#8220;cleaving out&#8221; the phytochemicals in the cellulose fibers.  Which comes from consumption of vegetables and fruits Most of our acquired allergies and autoimmune diseases are due to &#8220;leaky gut syndrome&#8221;, which is an imbalance in gut flora.  we have at least 1 trillion cells in our body.  The bacteria in our guts out numbers that 10 to 1.  We have about 4 lbs of gut bacteria in our intestines.  When our guts are not sealed through probiotics we have partially digested foods and bad bacteria &#8220;leak&#8221; into our blood stream through our gut lining.  This is why we have over 200 diff autoimmune conditions that Western Medicine has identified.  The probiotics that Chris and I use are Good Belly-Big shots or for kids you can use the good belly juices they have.  Blending allows you to get probiotics from your fruits and vegetables which dramatically effect the immune system and even more so your vitality.  </p>
<p>So our verdict is in, 3hp Blending for us. They sell both Blend-Tec and Vitamix blenders at Costco for under $400.</p>

<p>We as a nation need to learn to adapt. Understand that what we know today may be different from yesterday and yet could still be wrong in the future. What If I told you the countries leading nutritionists 40 years ago made a mistake and now we are the victims of that today. What if we put in programs that are costing us more today then what they are worth. We need to change. The best way to change is to become educated and learn as much as we can, for ourselves and the next generation. My goal is to learn and spread the knowledge I feel may help you in your health as well as your family.</p>
<p>The cost of Healthcare is phenomenally huge. The United States spends 2-3x more per person then most countries and we are ranked #32 in overall Healthcare. Is this because our doctors and our medical system suck or is the American diet making us so unhealthy? I&#8217;m inclined to think that America actually has a pretty good reactive healthcare system. We aren&#8217;t addressing the preventative education and care to keep us healthy. We are over prescribed medicine, we are suffering from nutrient deficiencies, and our diets are terrible. The average person weights 25lbs more than they did 25 years ago. Did you know we have an epidemic of 6 month old babies suffering from obesity or the huge percentage of inner city children that suffer with obesity? How is it children are suffering so much?</p>
<p>Back in the 60&#8242;s research showed that dietary fat increased LDL. LDL was discovered to be linked to Heart Disease. Nutritionist assumed if we decreased our dietary fat then we would reduce Heart disease. Well I&#8217;m assuming I don&#8217;t have to tell you now that we were wrong, Heart Disease, Obesity, and Diabetes have been on the rise for 30 years. However statistics shows the Americans are actually eating less Fat. The average American eats more calories then they did 25 years ago, this is true. Dietary fat is now only about 30% of our caloric intake versus 40%. However we have replaced that fat with more sugar. Everyone knows food without fat is bland, so we sweeten it up to taste good again. Well what do we know now that is different from the 60&#8242;s. Well we know now that there are two types of LDL, one that is considered to be light and flows through the blood stream easily and another that is heavy and dense and clogs arteries. This dense LDL is what is now considered to be dangerous. The liver is what processes and creates LDL, and the dangerous LDL is created from Carbohydrates, not Fat.</p>
<p>Well does this mean I should avoid Carbs? Most definitely not. Carbohydrates really are vital to daily living, you can survive without them but that doesnt mean you will thrive. It&#8217;s really the kind of Carbohydrates that you&#8217;re eating that makes the impact in your health. Complex carbs like rice and oatmeal that convert to glucose are vital for your organs. Every living organism survives off glucose, it&#8217;s natural, it&#8217;s used by every organ and it&#8217;s good for us. However Fructose is something totally different. Fructose isn&#8217;t absorbed by any organs. Early man only had fructose in very small doses and with lots of fiber, today we have fructose or especially High Fructose Corn Syrup HFCS in products everywhere. It always bothers me how connected our government is with our health. Government subsidizing of farming like CORN, made HFCS way less expensive than sugar and now it is everywhere. Start reading your labels, it really could save your life. Fructose is not absorbed, such a high percentage of it is converted in LDL and your triglyceride levels rise dramatically. This becomes a way bigger indicator for heart disease. It also triggers insulin resistance in the organs and the liver which lead to diabetes. Why are our kids suffering so much? I&#8217;ll tell you why, it&#8217;s called WIC. Wic is subsidized by Food INC. So poor kids gets juice and mass quantities of HFCS. Fizzy Drink Study in Christchurch England showed that just by pulling carbonated beverages out of schools the obesity rate declined slightly, however the amazing part of the statistic is that in the schools where they left carbonated drinks the obesity rate climbed by 7.5%.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll give you one more reason why you should care. The Government and Health insurance companies are working to create new laws and policies towards Healthcare. The goal is to make everyone that has health insurance be required to take a physical and blood work. Why do they want this information you might ask, it&#8217;s because if you are high risk you will pay high risk rates. If you are obese in the state of Texas you are likely to pay between 3k-4k more per year for your health insurance. If you don&#8217;t think employers are going to want to make a change on who the employ because of this you are mistaken. The time to take back your health under your own control is now. <p><strong>BLOOD TYPE DIETING: My Review</strong><br />
How do you know which diet is right for you? Lots of diets have results, but most of them don’t give you any nutritional information as to why and many of them aren’t long lasting results. There are diets out there to lose weight, cleanse your colon, detoxify and even to clear your mind. There are a few theories out there that Brian and I truly believe because we practice them ourselves. I&#8217;m going to inform you about some of my own opinions, but I highly encourage you do some research yourself.</p>
<p>Blood Type Dieting &#8211; Peter D&#8217;Adamo released his first book in &#8217;97. Largely skeptical at the time it has now become a highly adopted and researched way to eat and live based off your genetic makeup. The studies and research is based largely on the reaction of certain foods with ABO blood types. Agglutination is a reaction that happens in your blood when it reacts with certain chemicals. How we check somebody&#8217;s blood type is by testing for these positive reactions. Well the food we eat can cause these same reactions in our bodies; the avoidance of these foods can highly affect the way you feel on a daily basis. We as Americans grew up in a society where we are taught we can eat anything we want to, unless of course we have learned about the foods we are highly allergic to thru experience. Through our personal experience and that of 100&#8242;s of people we have worked with over the last few years we truly do believe in this style of eating.</p>
<p>First let me start off with a few disclaimers. Blood Type Dieting was not designed for weight loss; it&#8217;s designed for better food reactions in our bodies. While eating this way you may feel better, be more active and lose weight but it&#8217;s truly there to help your body become a better performing organism. Real weight loss comes from proper eating habits, portion control, and lots of outside factors like exercise, sunlight and sleeping. Also I believe any diet that excludes processed foods and eating all natural will be a vast improvement from what most Americans currently do.</p>
<p>Every day since I was a little kid I had a big glass of Milk, sometimes a few glasses a day. I also had other Dairy products, like cheese and yogurt. As a child I had allergies, I had ear aches all the time, colds, flus, viruses but still I was considered to be in generally good health. As an adult I still got sick occasionally and allergies got worse over the years especially living in Texas. When I got into fitness I did what everyone else is told to do &#8211; Eat more Protein. 95% of Protein shakes are made from Whey or Casein, both of which are Dairy bi-products in a concentrated form. Whey &#038; Casein are high in protein and very cheap due to the large quantities of milk production going on in the USA. So when I was introduced to Blood Type Dieting Milk was a huge part of my life. I thought it would be hard to give up, it&#8217;s just a satisfying drink and who doesn&#8217;t love cheese? Two years ago I swore to Fred Ardeneaux that i would go two weeks with only eating and drinking things on my blood type and so I did. I didn&#8217;t notice much at first, energy levels were consistent and I always felt what I considered to be good. I did notice some small things at first. When I changed out my protein to an Egg Protein source I immediately noticed something, my stomach didn&#8217;t get upset. In fact I had just associated that protein shakes all just made you feel a certain way, because up until now I didn&#8217;t realize it was the Whey that made me feel that way. My body had built up a tolerance to Dairy products, so they only bothered me a little bit but I could feel the difference. Now that I rarely do Dairy, I can immediately feel it when I do. I would even dare do a full shake of Whey or drink a glass of milk, but i still like a little cheese here and there. I personally am an A Blood type, so there are a few cheeses I can have like Mozzarella or Feta. Brian is blood type O; he realized he shouldn&#8217;t do Dairy and even more importantly for him he should avoid Gluten. He never knew it before but now every time he has Gluten he can feel those negative effects it has on his stomach and how he feels.</p>
<p>How often are you eating things that maybe you&#8217;ve built a tolerance to but don&#8217;t realize they are bad for you? You might be surprised. Now I rarely suffer from any allergies, I haven&#8217;t been sick in years, and I know blood type dieting has helped me and most people that try it and stick to it. Try it for two weeks and then go eat a whole bunch of things on your avoid list and tell me how you feel.<br />

OUR NEWS:<br />
Running our bootcamps over the last two years has been fun &#038; challenging. We have always tried to help as many people as we can, regardless if they could afford our prices. We know these are tough times and we want to help each and every person that we can. Starting in January CorpFIT will officially be a Donation based business. We will have a donation box at each class, but it will totally be optional. As the new year approaches we want everyone to have an option to get active. We will accept normal memberships for those that just want to pay at all once, but that will also be optional. Please come and help us spread the word. We want to start donation based yoga &#038; zumba classes as well if we can get more people. If this doesn&#8217;t work Brian &#038; I have decided to just focus on Corporate Wellness and we will refer business to other training companies, so please come and get a great workout.<br />

BLOG: The Importance of Water.<br />
As many of you have heard me talk about this many times, I will keep this Blog brief. We take water for granted. As Americans fresh clean water has always been just a faucet away. We have been privileged and because of this we forget how important it is. The first thing we would die without is oxygen, we would only last a matter of minutes without it. Water is number two, we could only last a few days. Food however we could live a month without. If this world didn&#8217;t have water in the temperature range that it is, no life would exist.<br />
Why is water in my opinion the most important? We are supposed to be 70% water, unfortunately 95% of Americans of chronically dehydrated. We can control the water we intake, I can&#8217;t help the air that your breathe. I test people every day that are less then 40% or 50% water. How can this be when we have fresh water at our finger tips? Because we think of all other fluids as water, but they aren&#8217;t. 95% of Americans suffer from what&#8217;s called clumped red blood cells. Our red blood cells are dehydrated and instead of freely flowing through our blood stream they stick together and begin to clump. This immediately affects our body as red blood cells deliver oxygen, nutrients and vital minerals to our whole body. They also remove wastes and toxins from our body to help clean and purify. You can&#8217;t feel every cell in your body, imagine how many cells are suffering when your body isn&#8217;t getting enough oxygen and you&#8217;re tired at 2pm in the afternoon. We need to start paying attention t o our bodies again, somewhere along the way we forgot how important they are.<br />
Blog &#8211; Acidic/Alkaline:<br />
If you can take one lesson away from this blog, let it be this. STOP DRINKING SODAS. The process of adding carbonation to water makes it extremely acidic. How long would a plant survive if all you gave it was Soda? Why do you think that a human body is different? We are tougher, but we are highly damaged by acidity. You may ask yourself why don&#8217;t I already know this? Americans love their Companies with polar bears at Christmas and their 35 Billion in revenues a year help too. Carbonated beverages of any type dehydrated our body, that inner cellular fluid that helps our blood deliver oxygen to our cells. The Average PH of any carbonated beverage is 2.5ph. Our Blood which is 7.316 is so sensitive that if it moved .10 in either direction we would probably die. Now acidity from Sodas doesn&#8217;t directly enter our blood stream, but it does directly enter our small intestines. Our small intestines is how we absorb many of our vitamins, minerals and vital nutrients for survival. We abs orb these through sensitive enzymes that really only live in an alkaline environment. We also have prebiotics and probiotics, these are our first line of defense against colds, flus and viruses. When we dump acidic fluids into our systems we immediately kill vital enzymes and probiotics damaging our health. When we do it every day, we are slowly but surely killing our bodies through nutrient deficiencies, bacterias, and viruses. Some of that acidity makes it into our blood stream and our bodies go into a defense mode. First we store acidity in fat cells to get it away from our precious organs and out of our blood stream. Secondly, our lungs help dissipate acidity when we exhale. Laslty, our blood pulls precious calcium from our bones to help maintain a constant PH. Have you ever heard of Osteoporosis?<br />
The body is a powerful complex machine, every person was born athletic, intelligent and powerful. Your body fulfills your desires and reacts as such. If you sit all day long, your body gets good at sitting. If you move all day long your body gets good at moving. Why don&#8217;t you start moving again, let&#8217;s put down the soda and drink water or green tea. Try it out for a few weeks and tell me if you don&#8217;t have more energy, more vitality, and over all a feeling of being healthier.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Plastics</strong> today are everywhere, we drink out of them, eat off their surfaces and use plastic utensils. What if these plastics weren&#8217;t good for us? If they impacted our hormones and/or our weight, would we know? There are some reports that I&#8217;d like to make people aware of because I believe they seriously impact your health and you use it every day.</p>
<p>In 2003-04 the CDC took 2,500 Americans over 6 yrs old and found that in 93% of of their Urine to be positive for <strong>Bisphenal A (BPA)</strong>. In animals it has an impact with estrogen like affects like breast tissue and enlarged prostate glands. There is a lot of damage that can be done when you start messing with hormones as early as an infant. However BPA is usually excreted out of the system in a short period of time, but we are so regularly dosing ourselves it&#8217;s still constantly in our bodies. Even premature babies in the Hospital test positive due to IV and feeding tubes.</p>
<p>Let me talk about BPA &amp; animals for just a few moments, I think you will find that is reason enough to avoid this chemical because it is so closely associated to affects Americans everywhere are having. There was a study done on the human repro effects of BPA. The study found that a variety of effects like precancerous lesions in the prostate and mammary glands, altered prostate gland and urinary tract development, and <strong>early onset of puberty in females</strong> in early development that were exposed to BPA into similar doses to human exposure. This multiplied with the hormones we are getting through our foods and you will find girls hitting puberty as early as seven years old.</p>
<p><strong>Dioxins</strong> are another big reason to stay away from Plastics, although still in dispute if just microwaving or freezing plastic will release the toxic chemical.  Dioxin is a known human carcinogen and the most potent synthetic carcinogen ever tested in laboratory animals. A characterization by the National Institute of Standards and Technology of cancer causing potential evaluated dioxin as over 10,000 times more potent than the next highest chemical (diethanol amine), half a million times more than arsenic and a million or more times greater than all others.</p>
<p>1. No plastic containers <span style="text-decoration: underline">in micro</span>.</p>
<p>2. No water bottles <span style="text-decoration: underline">in freezer</span>.</p>
<p>3. No plastic wrap <span style="text-decoration: underline">in microwave</span>..</p>
<p>What about<strong> Xenoestrogens</strong>, reason #3 to stay away from plastics.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>BPA is a Xenoestrogen. Do Not trust Plastic Studies. Plastic industry safety studies find no significant health effects from typical daily doses of bisphenol A, a full 90% of government studies found harmful health effects [1] especially to children and expecting moms, [2] but also for male sexuality and reproduction. [3]. [Naturopathy Works has] previously warned [its] readers never to leave a plastic water bottle on a hot car seat, because the phthalates used in the manufacture of plastics leach into the water that you then drink. Phthalates are another xenoestrogen. However, with the polycarbonate bottles it has been found that even at room temperature, bisphenol A leaches into the water, and more so with increased temperature. Also with repeated use of plastics, you may notice the fine line scratches that you see on an old plastic container. These increase the surface area exposed to the liquid inside and release more of the xenoestrogens into the water.</p>
<p>Meat, eggs and dairy foods can be a source of xenoestrogens. Estrogens are fed to dairy cattle to encourage more milk production and to chickens to increase egg production. Animals that are raised organically cannot be given estrogens. So choosing organically grown eggs, milk and meat not only reduces your own exposure to estrogens, it reduces the amount of estrogens released into the environment.</p>
<p>Pesticides are another source of xenoestrogens. So, eating organically grown fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and beans will also decrease your exposure to xenoestrogens. Many pesticides are fat soluble and they accumulate in animal fat as they work their way up the food chain, resulting in reproductive problems in birds, fish and, of course, human beings. So, also avoid animal fat from non-organic animal foods as both xenoestrogens and other toxins tend to concentrate in the fat.</p>

<p>Apples are the most chemically contaminated produce, says a <a href="http://www.ewg.org/foodnews/">new report</a> by the Environmental Working Group, a non-profit focused on public health.</p>
<p>The report suggests buying organic apples instead of conventional,  and names other fruits and vegetables that rank highest in pesticides.  Organic produce is grown using materials of plant or animal origin,  instead of chemicals. On the &#8220;dirty dozen&#8221; list are:</p>

<p>3. Strawberries</p>
<p>4. Peaches</p>
<p>5. Spinach</p>
<p>6. Imported nectarines</p>

<p>&#8220;Though buying organic is always the best choice, we know that  sometimes people do not have access to that produce or cannot afford  it,&#8221; EWG President Ken Cook said. &#8220;Our guide helps consumers concerned  about pesticides to make better choices among conventional produce, and  lets them know which fruits and vegetables they may want to buy  organic.&#8221;</p>
<p>However, United Fresh Produce, the trade association representing produce companies, calls the report &#8220;misleading.&#8221;</p>
<p>In a statement to CNN, the group said:</p>
<p>&#8220;At a time when medical experts strongly urge Americans to realize  the health benefits from eating more fruits and vegetables, it is  irresponsible to mislead consumers with a sensational publicity stunt  disguised as science. While its authors admit the &#8216;health benefits of a  diet rich in fruits and vegetables outweigh the risks of pesticide  exposure,&#8217; the Dirty Dozen list will almost certainly discourage many  people from eating the recommended amounts of fresh produce and  potentially diminish the nutrition and health of millions of Americans.&#8221;</p>
<p>The EWG report is an update from the <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/06/01/dirty.dozen.produce.pesticide/index.html?iref=allsearch">2010 one</a>.  It is based on data collected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  Samples were tested as they were normally eaten- washed, and sometimes  peeled.</p>
<p>&#8220;The pesticide data that USDA publishes each year provides  regulators, scientists, farmers, and consumers important insights about  ongoing challenges as well as significant progress in the use of  pesticides,&#8221; a USDA spokesman said in a statement.</p>
<p>&#8220;Our annual report shows that overall pesticide residues found on  foods tested are at levels below the tolerances set by the EPA.&#8221;</p>
<p>Registered dietitian Ann Dunaway Teh has some advice for shoppers watching their wallets.</p>
<p>&#8220;If you are on a food budget but you are concerned about pesticide  residue and whether or not you should be buying organic foods, then this  guide may be a good place to start for buying organic foods,&#8221; she said.</p>
<p>&#8220;The wider variety of fruits and vegetables that you eat, the lower your risk overall to pesticide residues.&#8221;</p>
<p>She says peeling may help to remove some of the pesticide residue, but also lost are some of the nutrients and fiber.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well my 7 Day Detox was a success. I felt great and lost 6 pounds in 7 days. Hopefully it will stay off for the next weigh-in. I have lost 62 pounds since the fall. I&#8217;m so ready for vacation next week. Last year I had a size 24 swim suit&#8230;.last week I bought a size 16&#8230;..sooo excited. I will be bringing some healthy snacks, my Genesis Pure Supplements and appetite chews, and my workout gear so I can workout each morning in the hotel. It surprising how I never took advantage of hotel workout equipment before. We have also planned some hikes in the MOUNTAINS&#8230;..hope all my exercise will hold up in the higher elevation. What am I saying?  I know it will I went Snowboarding in February and am in even better shape now. Those mountain hikes will be a breeze, will post pics next time. Brian and I also reevaluated my food plan, and I am now off of the high/low days and back on a regular routine-should make eating while on vacation a more pleasant experience as well.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Alright so since I&#8217;m been at a plateau for awhile, I&#8217;ve decided to do a 7 day detox. I have never done one before, but Genesis Pure is promoting their Detox and created a challenge for staff and its members. I decided to take that challenge. What have I learned after 2 days? THAT I COULD NEVER BE A VEGETARIAN. For 2 days I&#8217;ve had fasting solution, and shakes, and veggie smoothies. Do I want sugar? No. Do I want starches? Well maybe a litte. Do I want meat? Heck yeah&#8230;.what I really want is a Fuddruckers Hamburger. But I&#8217;m determined to see this detox all week through. I&#8217;m surprised that I&#8217;m not really hungry. I&#8217;m really enjoying the Appetite Chews. They have the consistency of a tootsie roll. I told my son to try one and let him know it was kind of like a tootsie roll (it has cacao in it) He started to chew one and responded &#8220;mom how long has it been since you&#8217;ve had a tootsie roll? Ugh&#8221; Well I ike them and he doesn&#8217;t really need them anyway. I love Genesis Pure Products and I love the support that I&#8217;m getting on Facebok. I love the liquid nutrition and the Goyin Superfruit that I take everyday.  It&#8217;s weird not eating meat for 2 days after eating protein at EVERY MEAL for the past 8 months. But I believe that our body needs to be surprised for a change to occur. I&#8217;ve done 6 days and a cheat day, and I&#8217;ve done 1 high and 3 low days, and with the changes I usually see a more dramatic weight loss. I better see a dramatic weight loss this week. I&#8217;ll let you know next week how successful it was.</p>
